Firstly, I would like to thank you all for your support over the last five years… it’s been a journey.
2019 presents the sixth event in my 7-year challenge, which finishes next year in 2020…I promise!
Every year the challenge has got bigger and more difficult – from running a marathon in year 1, to completing an ironman in year 4 and then last year cycling from John O’Groats to Lands End over 11 days.
This year the challenge is taking place over one day, but it’s a BIG day. Taking place on 15th June 2019, ‘The Wall’ is an ultra-marathon following Hadrian’s Wall. The challenge is to cover 69 miles under foot between Carlisle and Newcastle, which should take around 16 hours. Please see link to website https://ratracethewall.co.uk
This year I am raising funds for two charities, MIND and CatZero.
My father suffered from mental health issues for most of his life. Unfortunately, six years ago everything became too much, and we lost him to his illness. He was the inspiration behind my sister Nicola and me taking on the first challenge together, which was the Stratford-upon-Avon Shakespeare Marathon. (She dragged me round, if you remember!) This one is for you DAD.
Of course I am also raising funds for CatZero and especially for our innovative and life-changing Full Families programme. We have run a pilot programme in Grimsby with incredible success https://catzero.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/February-pull-out-EXTRA.pdf and we would like to run more programmes around the Humber region.
Your support makes a big difference and is ALWAYS appreciated. Your words of encouragement keep me going when the going gets tough. Excuse the pun but I am sure I am going to hit the WALL on this one!
The link below takes you to my Virgin Giving page if you would like to donate.
Once again thank you for your support.
