Let’s make it 30in30in30!
Yes, £30k, by running 30 marathons in 30 days – the race is on!
Danny Watson has now put his personal 30in30 fund-raising target up to £30,000 – with all the money raised going towards CatZero’s two Full Families programmes in Grimsby and Hull. In raising the money by undertaking his incredible challenge, Danny says the work of Full Families in supporting families reaching crisis in the Humber region is needed now, more than ever before.
With four days to go until he starts his run of more than 800 miles up the UK, his fund stands at almost £20k – and with everyone’s help, it can reach the magic £30k in the next month! As you will all know by now, he is setting off from Brighton Pier next Wednesday, September 23, and will be running at least a marathon every day for 30 days to reach John O’Groats on Thursday, October 22.
Arriving in North East Lincolnshire and Grimsby on October 1, Danny will then cross the Humber Bridge and into Hull the following day before continuing his journey north. With an eye always on safe practice and current coronavirus guidelines, Danny has a support team of just three and will be self-sufficient – eating and sleeping in a camper van and avoiding all physical contact. The route may also be subject to last-minute change.
As final preparations take place, Danny is ever-thankful for the support he has received from the event sponsors – Beal Homes being one such organisation. A firm supporter of CatZero, its Chief Executive Richard Beal, said:
“We’re proud to be sponsoring Danny’s incredible challenge and wish him the very best of luck along the way. We know how important the work of CatZero is in supporting individuals and families and opening up life-changing opportunities that they otherwise wouldn’t have.”
Thank you Richard!
