The countdown is on…yes, my CatZero 30in30 adventure is reaching its final days.
After setting off from Brighton Pier on Wednesday 23rd September, I seem to have been running forever! But, in a flash, I will be at the end having ran 30 marathons in 30 days – consecutively! Covering more than 800 miles, due to the increasing coronavirus threat in some areas, I will now be finishing at our charity’s headquarters on Hull Marina on Thursday 22nd October.
Over the last three weeks my journey has taken me from Brighton through Greenwich and then to Cambridge and Boston. It was great to run through Grimsby and then Hull the day after. Due to the route change I have since ran through Hull again, back across the Humber Bridge and I am this week taking on a ‘Greater Lincolnshire Loop’.
As the journey reaches its final stages, I can only thank you all so far for your fantastic support – with my £30k goal now in sight. I also want to thank my wonderful support crew, without them, this wouldn’t be possible.
All the way along, I have asked people to ‘join me’ virtually – to follow my daily updates and videos on both mine and CatZero’s social media channels. Via instagram: dannywatsoncatzero Or via the updates on Instagram, facebooke and twitter: catzeroofficial.
All sponsorship money raised will go towards our vital work, specifically underwriting our life-changing Full Families programmes. These are currently running in Grimsby and Hull with plans to expand them, due to their success.
The programme supports children, young people and families approaching crisis point. This work is needed now, more than ever, as the country struggles to lift itself out of the continued global pandemic. Heightened issues with employment, isolation and vulnerability are affecting low-income families the most and will continue to do so.
