Welcome to our final 30in30 picture diary – great to see the wonderful pictures at a time when we are unable to travel! We can all look forward to visiting some of these places in 2021….
Day 21 and it was a total of 28.03 miles through the Lincolnshire flatlands as Danny pushed on to reach his target of running 800-miles in the 30 days.
Day 22: Lincolnshire has hills and Danny felt the pain as he ran miles 14 to 21, but he pushed through – digging dip to continue his journey through this big, big county!
Day 23 and a quick stop for a photo shoot as Andrew from the Daily Telegraph snaps Danny in action for the national newspaper article! It was then onwards dipping further into south Lincolnshire before swooping back up. Yes, it was the final seven days.
Day 24: As Danny expected, this was a long slog with the first 20 miles running into north easterly headwinds…but his reward was a downwind to see him to the finish line! There was an unexpected stop however, when trusted support rider Scully had a little issue with his wheels…
Day 25: Green veg and windmills, yep, Danny’s still in Lincolnshire as he runs up through Boston and towards the coast!
Day 26: just four days to go and you’ve guessed it, Danny’s still in Lincolnshire – running around the great county loop! And you can’t visit Lincs with a trip to Skegness, or as many people like to badge it, Skeg-Vegas. Danny, you’d make a great Jolly Fisherman…
Day 27: What a sunrise! Still in Lincolnshire, but with just three days to go Danny was heading back up towards Grimsby and let’s just repeat what he put on his social media post for this particular day: “I remember thinking how grateful I was to be alive – taking on this challenge and being able to appreciate the amazing planet we live on. Had a quick look at the beach before running up the coast where there was lots of wildlife – birds of prey, wild deer, geese flying south.”
Day 28: A stop for a quick snack – and it had to be a bag of Pipers Crisps, one of 30in30’s wonderful sponsors. And, did you know there were palm trees in Mablethorpe!
Day 29: the penultimate marathon and it’s into Grimsby for a great greeting from friends, including deputy mayor David Hasthorpe and MP Lia Nici. Danny was mega grateful for all the support.
THE END, Day 30 and what a warm welcome back into Hull where Danny’s family, friends and supporters were there to greet him, along with Look North & BBC Radio Humberside. A great end to a great 30 days. And do you know what, as of today (November 6), Danny has reached a personal fund-raising total on https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/DannyWatson30in30 of £34,864. Brilliant and he thanks you for all the support.
…….and finally, guess what Danny was doing this morning, yes RUNNING!
