Go the distance with the Dutch Dash!
Following the success of two Dutch Dash trips in 2016, arrangements are being made for the 2017 event.
Crew members can arrive at Hull Marina from 6.00 pm on Thursday 20th July 2017 for introductions, kitting up and boat familirisation ready for an action-packed weekend adventure from Hull to Amsterdam and back, sailing under the direction of skipper Danny Watson, who has twice taken amateur crews around the globe in the famous Clipper race.
CatZero will then depart early Friday morning from Hull and arrive in Ijmuiden on Saturday lunchtime, having sprinted across 200 miles of the North Sea.
It is then only a short trip to the beautiful and vibrant city of Amsterdam for the afternoon and an evening to remember. Following a hearty breakfast on the Sunday morning, the boat will prepare for departure in the afternoon and sail back into Hull, returning into the marina with the tide around 2000 hours on Monday 24th July.
Places are now selling fast for this unique event.
Anyone can take part and past participants have included children as young as 13 and adults as old as 80. Fully experienced sailors mix with total amateurs, individuals make new friends and families share a unique experience whcih will bond them for years to come. As well as the challenge of crewing a Challenge 72 yacht in the North Sea and gaining your competent crew qualification, there is also the fund-raising challenge to make a minimum donation of £500 to help support this award winning charity.
We also offer opportunities for you to commission the boat for a group of your friends to run your own Dutch Dash or similar adventure. Crew from Baitsons Auctioneers took the boat over to Amsterdam in 2014 and Bruge in May 2015 and a group from Santandar enjoyed a dash across to Holland in May 2016.

"The crew were fantastic and gave lots of time to us all, explaining all of the many questions we all had about sailing and just generally providing a really enjoyable experience on a great yacht. I would definitely recommend this to anyone to try, as this really was a great way to spend a weekend"
