The 2017 Duncumb Triathlon Challenge
Thursday 31st August, 2017
On Sunday 17th September 2017, Nicky and Ben Duncumb are undertaking their 2017 fund raising challenge. This challenge involves a unique triathlon comprising a 40 mile cycle ride across the Lincolnshire Wolds from Scamblesby to the Humber Bridge, a 2 mile kayak** across the tidal Humber (with very welcome safety support from Dave and Pete from CatZero and the Humber Rescue rib) and a 6 mile run along the north bank from the Humber Bridge to Hull Marina, the home of the Cat Zero yacht. (** or a 2 mile walk across the Humber Bridge in Victorian bathing costumes and flippers if we encounter adverse weather conditions!!)
The purpose of the challenge is to raise funds for the award-winning CatZero charity to assist them in their valuable work of running innovative development programmes to help those not in employment, education or training (NEETs). These programmes have a huge impact on participants’ self esteem and confidence, empowering them to take on new responsibilities and developing a desire to succeed.
We have set up a fund raising page at virginmoneygiving.com/NickyDuncumband all donations will be gratefully received. Please help us make a life-changing difference to the NEETs of the Humber area, together with the knock-on beneficial impact on their wider families.
