DIRECTOR of sailing Danny Watson was joined by Northern Lincolnshire business representatives and leading politicians on a sail out of Grimsby Docks to raise awareness of the charity.
As part of a series of short sails on the Humber, our Director of Operations Dave Bertholini was also on board – along with the leader of North East Lincolnshire Council, Cllr Ray Oxby and the Deputy Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, Cllr Richard Hannigan. Others aboard included accomplished speaker and successful entrepreneur Richard Askam, Richard Bellamy who has a leading role within the Enrolled Freemen of Grimsby and the Chief Executive of the Lincolnshire Housing Partnership Murray Macdonald.
Dave told the party how our unique charity, now approaching its tenth year, set itself apart from others due to its dedication to support the young people, adults and families it worked with. By taking best practice from right across the UK, the charity’s programmes had been formed to ensure they delivered lasting personal change – all having some of the best outcomes that you will find in the country, added Dave.
There followed a three-hour sail, which gave those on board a flavour of what participants take part in on their long-sails, which are a part of their programmes of change – complementing the work that is done onshore, including personal development, CV work, qualifications and healthy eating and cooking.
