Caz White, our action girl from Immingham, has turned her hand to quilting – and has produced this craft creation that will be raffled off for our CatZero funds on this, our tenth anniversary year.
Caz, 24, is a past participant and her progress, following her CatZero programme, has been fantastic. From having so little confidence that she did not wish to leave her bedroom, she has now joined the Grimsby Tri Club and is in training for our skipper Danny Watson’s Coast-to-Coast fund-raising challenge.
“And a year ago I couldn’t even ride a bike,” admits Caz!
Her new enthusiasm for sport has also seen her experience her first sea swim – off the Cleethorpes coast with her fellow Tri Club members, which she says was a ‘little chilly’.
In addition to her sporting success, Caz has also taken up quilting and is a member of Immingham’s Mayflower Quilters, which she attends weekly. To mark our ten years, the members have supported Caz in creating a wonderful quilt emblazoned with CatZero images, with a matching cushion.
“It has taken about two and a half months in total, with some of it hand-stitched. When I approached the club and explained about CatZero everyone was happy to help,” she said.
Caz actually cycled from her Immingham home over to our offices in Hull to present the quilt and cushion to us, which we will be raffling later in the year.
It’s a big thank you to Caz and the quilters from everyone here!
