HUMBER-wide charity CatZero welcomed the presentation of a cheque for £30,000 from the St. James’s Place (SJP) Charitable Foundation, which will contribute to their expanding, regional Full Families programme.
The foundation, which is the independent charitable arm of the financial, advice-led wealth manager, St. James’s Place, is supporting the important work of the charity as part of their grant-making programme. Presenting the cheque were SJP Partners, Lisa Wickens of Lisa Wickens Wealth Management Ltd and Paul Scott of Navigation Wealth Management, both of whom have supported the application for the grant.
CatZero Humber is a charity dedicated to helping people of all ages achieve employment or training goals, including Forces’ veterans, disadvantaged young people and families at the point of crisis.
Their unique development programmes offer life-changing challenges and experiences through confidence-building activities, tailored action plans and by using the Challenge yacht as a tool for change. Since the charity’s inception 17 years ago, it has helped hundreds of people, with over two thirds of all participants returning to education, training, or employment.
The funding of £10K per year, for the next three years, will provide additional support for work with children who are already participating on the well-established Full Families programmes in Hull and North East Lincolnshire.
Paul Scott of Navigation Wealth Management Ltd commented: “We were delighted to support with the bid process on behalf of CatZero who, following a successful charity golf day in 2024, stood out as a worthy beneficiary for support. Following conversations with the CatZero team, and Lisa we were thrilled to be able to recommend they apply for funding.”
Lisa Wickens of Lisa Wickens Wealth Management added: “It has been my pleasure to assist CatZero in obtaining this amount of money from the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation and I’m looking forward to seeing the impact it has during the coming years.”
“Both Paul and I have had extensive conversations with the CatZero team, and we are amazed at not only the fantastic work they do, but also the astonishing outcomes for people on their programmes. We look forward to following the charity and hopefully being able to help in any way we can in the future.”
Partnership and Development Manager CatZero, Pete Tighe, added: “We are really pleased with this fantastic amount of money, which will support programmes for people across the region. This bid shows the amazing outcomes you can achieve when people work together, and we thank everyone involved for helping us to raise these funds.”
