If you have ever wanted to experience offshore sailing at its most exhilarating, 2027 could be the year you take on the Rolex Fastnet Race with CatZero.
The Rolex Fastnet Race is one of the world’s most iconic offshore yacht races. First sailed in 1925, it has grown into the world’s largest offshore race, attracting a huge international fleet. The 2027 edition will be the 52nd running of the race.
And you could be part of it.
From Cowes to Cherbourg via Fastnet Rock
The 2027 race starts from Cowes on Saturday 24 July, taking crews on a 695-nautical-mile course across some of the most challenging and spectacular waters in the UK and Ireland.
The route takes you:
Cowes → The Needles → along the south coast of England → Land’s End → across the Celtic Sea → Fastnet Rock → the Isles of Scilly → Cherbourg, France.
The iconic Fastnet Rock, off the south-west coast of Ireland, is the turning point that gives the race its name. After rounding it, you’ll head back across the Celtic Sea towards the finish in Cherbourg.
It’s a serious offshore sailing challenge, involving coastal, tidal and ocean sailing, with conditions that can change quickly.
And that’s exactly what makes it such an adventure.
You’ll be right in the middle of it.
The watches. The sail changes. The navigation. The teamwork. The early mornings. The big seas. The quiet moments. The excitement of rounding Fastnet Rock and finally seeing Cherbourg on the horizon.

We know what it takes
This won’t be CatZero’s first Fastnet.
In 2025, during the 100th anniversary edition of the race, CatZero was the fastest of the four Challenge 72 yachts competing, beating the other three Challenge boats by around two hours after more than four days of racing. The team also finished ahead of the entire Clipper fleet.
It was a brilliant demonstration of what an experienced crew, good preparation and strong teamwork can achieve.
Now, we’re heading back in 2027. And this time, you could be part of the CatZero crew.
