Danny ran 150km in a day, starting in Cleethorpes before taking the pilot boat over to Hull Marina where he finished his challenge almost exactly 24 hours later.

2020
30 Marathons in 30 Days
Danny’s final challenge – 30 marathons in 30 days. Initially planned for April 2020, the challenge was postponed by COVID restrictions. It started in Brighton on 23rd September 2020, and travelled northwards eventually ending in Hull after over 800 miles.

2019
5th Annual Cycle Challenge
2019 saw the fifth CatZero Cycle Challenge take place which saw 13 riders taking to the saddle to complete the 270 mile full coast to coast, riding from Hornsea to Stockport in three days.
Director of Sailing, Danny Watson, who leads the event every year was delighted to reveal that the 2019 Cycle Challenge raised £13,000 – bringing the total raised by cycling events over the past five years to £91,000! All money raised goes back into the charity to directly benefit local people.

Danny’s 6th Challenge – The Wall Ultramarathon
Danny undertook the Wall Ultra Marathon, which follows Hadrian’s Wall between Carlisle and Newcastle. Money raised went to CatZero, and to MIND.


2018
4th Cycle Challenge
13 riders cycled for 170 miles, raising £6,000 for CatZero
Danny’s 5th Challenge – John O’Groats to Land’s End
The 5th of Danny’s Challenges, this took him 986.6 miles in 11 days. Camping every night along the way, skippers Danny, Eddie Green and Mark Preedy cycled from John O’Groats to Land’s End and raised £7,795.35 for CatZero.

2017
Danny’s 4th Challenge – Ironman
Danny’s 4th Challenge was an Ironman, a gruelling Iron Man distance triathlon which included a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride and a 26.2 mile run. This challenge raised £3,712.50 for CatZero, and additional funds which went to The Queen’s Centre for Oncology & Haematology at Castle Hill Hospital

2016
2nd Cycle Challenge
21 riders cycled from Albert Dock, Liverpool to Albert Dock, Hull and raised over £15,000 with support from the Horncastle Family.
Danny’s 3rd Challenge – London Marathon, CatZero Cycle Challenge and swimming across the Humber.
Danny’s 3rd challenge consisted of three events. He started off with the London Marathon, then took part in the CatZero Cycle Challenge and then finished off with a swim across the Humber. These three challenges raised money for CatZero, and for Haemophilia Society UK.
2015
The First CatZero Cycle Challenge, and Danny’s 2nd Challenge
In 2015, the first CatZero cycle challenge took place, with riders starting in Liverpool’s Albert Dock and finishing at the Albert Dock in Hull. 13 riders took part. This challenge was also the second of Danny’s challenges, following the Rotary Shakespeare marathon in 2014.

2014
Danny’s 1st Challenge
In 2014, Danny decided that he wanted to undertake a series of challenges to support CatZero, and other causes close to his heart. His first challenge was to complete the Rotary Shakespeare Marathon, with money going towards a CatZero sailing scholarship, and the paediatric cardiology team at Northampton General Hospital in association with Great Ormond Street Hospital.
